New Delhi: The main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party took the demand of special category status to Andhra Pradesh to next level by staging Maha dharna in New Delhi.
Hundreds of YSRCP leaders and activists took part in the dharna for achieving SCS to AP at Sansad Marg in New Delhi. People from different walks of life have extended their support to the dharna. Sansad Marg was reverberated with the slogans of special status demand.
However, the Delhi police have arrested the YSRCP leaders and shifted them to a near by police station on Monday afternoon. They arrested MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Vijay Sai Reddy, YV Subba Reddy, Varaprasad, Midhun Reddy, senior leaders Dharmana Prasad, Botsa Satyanarayan and MLAs and MLCs.
YSRCP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy alleged that the Central government is trying to suppress the peaceful movement with arrests. He suspected Chandrababu’s role in the arrests.
